Coastal Charm

A Seafood Lover's Delight

Weligama is a haven for sun-seeking backpackers and surf enthusiasts alike. With its golden sandy beaches, lively surf culture, and vibrant local atmosphere, this coastal town promises an unforgettable travel experience. Weligama is renowned for its gentle waves, making it an ideal spot for beginners to catch their first wave. The town's surf schools offer expert guidance, allowing travelers to ride the waves confidently. Cam and I fell in love with the rooftop café "Hangtime" close to the beach and the surf school.

Best Time to Visit: Weligama is a year-round destination, but the optimal time is during the dry season from November to March when the weather is ideal for both surfing and exploration.
