Shirakawa-go is a small village which showcases traditional houses with thatched and steep roofs. It is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.

How to get there:

You can travel to Shirakawa-go by public transport or rental car. From Tokyo, a one-way high-speed train costs 13,500, and a one-way transfer bus ticket from Kaetsun to Shirakawa-go costs 1800, for a total ride of 5 hours.
