3,000 year old volcanic crater lake

Golden Circle attraction

Kerid is a volcanic crater lake located in the Grímsnes area in the south of Iceland, along the Golden Circle. A short walk from the parking area takes you around the top edge of the crater with a good view overlooking the surrounding areas. There is aa entrance fee of 400 ISK

How to get there:

The easiest way to get there is to drive there yourself. The crater is located along the Golden Circle route just over 15 kilometres north of Selfoss.There, you will reach the parking lot, with a 3$ entrance fee.
