Beyond the surf, Ahangama reveals its cultural marvels and coastal wonders. It is a famous spot to see stilt fishermen at Koggala, showcasing a unique aspect of Sri Lanka's maritime heritage. You will find a lot of fancy café/bar by the beach for the best sunrise/sunset view.

Ahangama is located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, near the city of Galle.

How to get there:

From Colombo, take a train to Ahangama Railway Station. Buses also connect Colombo and Ahangama regularly, providing budget-friendly options for backpackers. The Matara bus is also going trough Ahangama almost every 10 minutes.
