Hundreds of picture-perfect beaches

One of the world's richest ecosystems

The Whitsundays are a series of 74 breathtaking tropical islands that are located between the northeast coast of Queensland, and the Great Barrier Reef. The islands are rich in coral and marine life. There are many things to do in the region, such as diving or snorkeling into the crystal waters, crocodile safaris, as well as exploring the popular beaches on a cruise ship.

How to get there:

There are a few option to reach the Whitsunday Islands. First, you can book a flight to one of the two main airports, the Great Barrier Reef Airport on Hamilton Island, or to Whitsunday Coast Airport on the mainland of Proserpine. The second option is by train: Queensland Rail’s ‘Sunlander’ services depart from Brisbane or Cairns towards Proserpine. You can also take a ferry from Airlie Beach, Daydream Island Resort or Long Island Resort.

  1. Definitely the prettiest place I’ve seen in my whole life. We had a whole island for ourselves. We had the best time hiking, snorkelling and chilling on the beach! Amazing experience!
