"The Valley of the Kings"

Waipio Valley is a sacred place for Hawaiians and has a lot of history. The valley is about one mile across and over five-miles deep, and surrounded by cliffs up to 2000 feet high. You can admire the valley from the coastal Waipio Valley Overlook, or you can walk down the steep road to reach the beach and to check on the 1,300 feet high Hiilawe Falls situated in the back of Waipio.

Wandering re-establishes the original harmony which once existed between man and the universe.

Located in the Hamakua District of the Big Island of Hawaii.

How to get there:

BIG ISLAND – The bus system on Big Island is not very effective in some areas, so many result to hitchhiking, which has become a common practice. The easiest way to get to Waipio Valley is to rent a car and to drive there yourself. You will find a parking lot right next to the lookout.
