The Remarkables are a popular mountain range located on the southeastern shore of Lake Wakatipu in the south island. The range is visible from downtown Queenstown, which is an easy 40-minute drive away. There are several hikes to do in the Remarkables mountain range, such as Jack's Point Track, Tiki Trail, Queenstown Hill Walking Trail and more.
There are two option to get to the Remarkables Mountains. You can either drive yourself or catch a ride on the Remarkables’ bus transport from outside the Snow Centre on Duke Street in Central Queenstown. It is a 30-40 minutes drive from Queenstown.
Once you reach the parking lot, the walk to the Purakaunui Waterfalls takes approximately 10 minutes.
The museum is located in Wellington, so you can easily get there by bus, taxi, rental car and plane.
