UNESCO World Heritage Site

The Tongariro National Park is both rich in cultural identity and dramatic natural sceneries. Volcanic eruptions can occur with little to no warning. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is 19 km long, and on average, the trek takes between six and eight hours to complete. Additionally, you will see an unbelievable collection of sights and features.

How to get there:

The trail to the Mount Tongariro starts at Mangatepōpō Road and ends at Ketetahi Road. The easiest way to reach the trail is by shuttle or by car. You can also join a tour from Auckland.
