Santa Crus trek is the most popular of all the Cordillera Blanca treks. It is for adventurers only and requires minimal preparation. The scenic journey is approximately 50 kilometers / 31 miles for a 3-4 days trek at 4760m of altitude, The best time to do the trek is from May to September (dry season). You can choose to do it by yourself or with a local guide which is recommended. For the accomodation, there is campsites along the way. Donkeys usually carry equipment, if you've booked a trek with a guide. The trek starts in huaraz and ends in Cashapampa. Temperatures can range from 25°C to - 3°C and at high altitude. The entrance fee is S10 per person per day.

How to get there:

To get to the trailhead of Santa Cruz trek, you need to get to the town of Huaraz, which lies 400 km north of Lima. From lima you can get a bus (8 hours journey) for 20$ or book a flight for 150$ ( 1 hours journey)
