The Ballestas Islands are one of Peru’s least known highlights. They are a must-see for all wildlife lovers as they're home to thousands of birds and mammals including penguins, sea lions, inca terns, pelicans and dolphins. They are also known for their many caves, arches and rock formations.

Located in the region of Ica, near the town of Paracas

How to get there:

The only way to visit Ballestas islands is to hire one of many local companies who sell their boat tours to Paracas. Normally they include many outdoor and cultural activities on the tour.
