The famous Red Sand Beach is an isolated and remote stretch of sand known as Kaihalulu Beach located next to Hana Highway. The beach is partially shielded from the open ocean by an offshore reef, which creates a cool swimming pond. The trail to get to Red Sand Beach can be slippery and the entire hike takes roughly 10 to 20 minutes from the parking lot.
