Meteora Rocks

One of the most spectacular places to visit in Greece.

The Meteora is a rock formation with six monasteries built on it. If you want to visit the interior of the monasteries, men must be cover their arms and wear long pants, while women must wear skirts below the knees. Meteora is also a great place to go rock climbing for both beginners and advanced climbers. The monastery is open from 9am to 1pm every day except on Thursdays. There is a 2 euro entrance fee for each of the monasteries.

Located near the town of Kalambaka, near the northwestern edge of the Thessalian plain

How to get there:

The closest towns are Kalambaka and Kastraki, from which are easily accessible by bus or train. To get to the monastery, you will walk up 140 steps and cut into the rocks.
