McAfee Knob is an impressive geological feature situated 3197 feet above sea level on Catawba Mountain in Catawba. It is a 4.4 mile trail to reach The Knob. The trail is iconic and definitely it: offering a scenic 270 degree panoramic view of the beautiful Catawba Valley. The trail has been popular in the last few years. Please follow the Leave-No-Trace hiking etiquette during your journey.

How to get there:

The best way to reach the trailhead to McAfee Knob is to drive a car. There is limited parking at the trailhead on Catawba Mountain. There is also a park-and-ride lot available at the end of Catawba Valley Road, in front of the Orange Market at the Virginia 419 intersection. Note, that you cannot park along the side of the road on Route 311.
