A mysterious site on Oahu's West Coast

A secret spot

The Makua Cave is a hidden cave that is significantly less crowded than other attractions in the area. You cannot see the cave from the road, therefore you have to hike about 30 minutes up the mountain and you will be rewarded with a scenic view of the crystal clear water. The hike begins on the mountainside of the Farrington Freeway. A few hundred feet from the parking lot, you will find a path specifically for this hike.

The journey itself is my home.

Located on Oahu's West Coast

How to get there:

OAHU – Makua Cave is located far off the western portion of the island near the end of the road. The best way to reach the cave is to rent a car and drive there by yourself. To reach the beginning of the trail, follow Farrington Highway. Continue about 3 miles past Makaha until you reach the Kaena Point State Park sign. Park here and find the little trail on the right side of the road.

  1. Short steep hike ! There is not much to do in the area besides this hike but this one is worth it, the view is sick!
