A high-altitude salt lake

A wonderful and unique color

Laguna Verde, also known as ‘green lake’ is named after the emerald color of the water. It is situated not far from the border with Chile inside the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve. From the lake you can admire the picturesque backdrop of the Lincancabur Volcano. The best time to visit Laguna Verde is during the dry season from April to September. We recommend taking warm clothes on your trip to Laguna Verde, as the high altitude and strong winds can make for some extremely chilly conditions. The park entrance fee is1,000 pesos (US $ .50) per person.
