The Ijen volcano complex is a group of composite volcanoes in the Banyuwangi Regency of East Java, Indonesia. It is inside the larger caldera Ijen, which is about 20 kilometres wide. The Gunung Merapi stratovolcano is the highest point of the complex. You need a mask for the 4km hike which can be done in about 2 hours. The hike peaks at 2,799 meters high.
