One of the most renowned attractions on the island

world's largest dormant volcano

Haleakala Volcano, which is a now-dormant volcano, emerged from the Pacific Ocean more than a million years ago. At the summit, the weather can be highly unpredictable and can change fast. Therefore, make sure you dreses in layers and bring warm clothes. Most people get up very early and watch the sunrise from the top of the volcano. It is definitely a breathtaking experience. You can also drive up to the summit, but try to arrive at the Haleakala Visitor Center no later than a half hour before the sun rises.
