The Beara Peninsula is a scenic area located in southwestern Ireland, in the county of Cork. It is one of the four peninsulas that make up the Southwest Peninsulas of Ireland, along with the Iveragh Peninsula, the Dingle Peninsula, and the Sheep's Head Peninsula. The Beara Peninsula is known for its rugged coastline, picturesque villages, and stunning mountain and sea views. It is also home to a number of historical and archaeological sites, including stone circles, wedge tombs, and ring forts. Some of the popular attractions on the Beara Peninsula include the town of Castletownbere, which is a major fishing port and a hub for seafood restaurants; Dursey Island, which is accessible only by cable car and is home to a colony of seals; and the Beara Way, a walking trail that takes visitors through some of the most scenic areas of the peninsula.
