Hawaii's most famous waterfall

A natural treasure

The Akaka Fall is an iconic 442-foot waterfall in the Hamakua Coast area. The Akaka Falls State Park hosts a small loop trail through the rainforest, offering a few viewpoints of the waterfall. On this same trail, you will also see the 100-feet Kahuna Falls. The entrance fee is $5.00 per car or $1 per person for pedestrians.

Located north from Hilo, off the Hawaii Belt Road

How to get there:

BIG ISLAND – The Akaka Falls State Park is located just north of Hilo. There are no buses that go from Hilo to Akaka Falls, so the best option is to rent a car. The trailhead is located just off the parking lot.
