Volcan de Agua is a 3760m high, perfectly shaped stratovolcano situated 5 to 10 km of the city of Antigua. From downtown Antigua, you have an incredible view of the impressive volcano. If you want to have a closer look, you can hike to the crater's summit by walking up the steep slope for 4-5 hours. The trailhead starts from the Mayan village of Santa Maria de Jesus. If the summit is cloud-free, the panoramic view of Antigua is quite breathtaking.
