A mysterious Mayan underworld

Actun Tunichil Muknal, also knwon as ATM, is a 5.3 km undergound cave sytem, with turquoise-clear waters, stalactites, stalagmites and ancient Mayan artifacts. This was once a Mayan ceremonial site. In fact, there are still 14 recovered skeletal remains in the cave. It was used as a nexus between humanity and the underworld of the gods. The cave holds a rich history of legends, which can be learned through a guided tour.
