An impressive desert andscape

One of the driest places on earth

Valle de la Luna is an iconic valley situated in Los Flamencos National Reserve. It is featuring fantastic moonlike landscape, impressive sand dunes, rugged mountains and distinctive rock formations. The Valley is a perfect place to watch the sunset/sunrise on a sand dune.

Located 13 kilometres west of San Pedro de Atacama, to the north of Chile in the Cordillera de la Sal, in the Atacama desert.

How to get there:

You can rent a bike from the nearby town of San Pedro de Atacama and cruise around the valley.
