Offers an eagle's view of the Cabot Trail

A dramatic headland cliff trail

The Skyline Trail is an iconic seven-kilometre long hiking trail located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The trail offers a breathtaking panoramic view over the mountains and the Gulf. You can watch for whales in the Gulf of the St. Lawrence from the viewing deck. It is common the see some Canadian wildlife such as mooses, foxes, coyotes, bald eagles, bears and various boreal birds. The best time to walk the trail is from mid-May to mid-October.

How to get there:

Skyline Trail is situated about 15 kilometres north of Cheticamp on the Cabot Trail. The easiest way to get to the start of the trail is by driving your own car. There is a parking lot available on site. There, you will see a sign on the side of the road indicating directions.
