A charming seaside little town

A beach lover’s paradise

Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a small town situated in the southeast of Costa Rica. This seaside town is famous for its gorgeous beaches, crystal-clear blue waters and surfing opportunities. There are many rustic reggae bars and restaurants that cater to Caribbean cuisine. North of the town, Cahuita National Park protects a large coral reef and has an iconic shipwreck dive site.

How to get there:

In many ways, a rental car is a great way to get to Puerto Viejo, but you can also chose a cheaper option, like the bulic bus system or you can opt for a private shuttle. The bus offers daily departures from San Jose to Puerto Viejo.
