One of Switzerland's best-kept secrets

UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Oeschinen Lake is located in the Oeschinen Valley. It has an elevation of 1578 metres and is surrounded by the majestic Swiss Alps. The lake is generally frozen from December to May.

Located in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, 4 kilometres east of Kandersteg, in the Oeschinen Valley.

How to get there:

Take the train to Kandersteg and walk to the path that goes up to the lake. There is also a trail that goes around the lake to a nice waterfall.
