The Tongariro National Park is both rich in cultural identity and dramatic natural sceneries. Volcanic eruptions can occur with little to no warning. The trail to the Mount Tongariro starts at Mangatepōpō Road and ends at Ketetahi Road. The easiest way to reach the trail is by shuttle or by car. You can also join a tour from Auckland.
