The Leshan Giant Buddha, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a colossal stone sculpture located in Sichuan, China. Carved out of a cliff face overlooking the confluence of the Minjiang, Dadu, and Qingyi rivers, this awe-inspiring 233-foot-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha is a marvel of ancient craftsmanship. Its construction began in the 8th century and took over 90 years to complete. Visitors can explore the surrounding area, which features serene gardens and temples, offering a cultural and historical insight into Chinese Buddhism.
