Home to the prettiest orchards in Norway

The Hardanger region is located in western Norway, stretching from the Hardangervidda mountain plateau to the Hardangerfjord, which is the second longest fjord in Norway. The region is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, including glaciers, waterfalls, and mountain peaks, as well as its rich cultural heritage. One of the most famous attractions in the Hardanger region is the Trolltunga (Troll's Tongue), a spectacular rock formation that juts out 700 meters above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. Another popular destination is the Folgefonna National Park, which features a large ice cap and glaciers that visitors can explore on guided tours. The region is also known for its fruit orchards, which produce a variety of fruits, including apples, pears, cherries, and plums. In fact, the Hardanger region is sometimes referred to as the "fruit bowl of Norway." Visitors can take part in fruit picking, taste local delicacies, and learn about the history of fruit farming in the region. The Hardanger region is easily accessible by car or public transportation, with many scenic routes and hiking trails to explore. It is also a popular destination for skiing and other winter sports, with several ski resorts located in the area.
