Stairway to Heaven

Haiku Stairs, also called the Stairway to Heaven" is an iconic hike on the island of Oahu. This hike is illegal and can be quite dangerous. It has been closed for safety reasons. If you decide to attempt this hike, you are doing so at your own risk. This includes fines of over $1000 for trespassing, security guards and broken handrails. Stairway to Heaven is a 3,922-step trail that takes you to the 2,800-foot summit of Puu Keahiakahoe on the Windward Side of Oahu. There is also a legal option, which is The Moanalua Trail. How to get there:

OAHU – To get to the start of the Moanalua Trail, type: 1849 Ala Aolani St, Honolulu, into your GPS. You can park your car in the parking lot. from there, it is a 5 miles hike to reach the Haiku Stairs. You’ll eventually reach a sign in front of a riverbed to your left. Do not cross the riverbed here: keep walking until you finally reach the ridge.
