Also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre

The massive oval amphitheatre was commissioned around A.D. 70-72 during the Roman Empire. The monument is full of history and definitely worth visiting. The best time to visit the Colosseum is off-season to avoid the Roman heat and crowds.
