A romantic castle

The most-visited historic monument in Switzerland

The island castle of Chillon is located the east-end banks of Lake Geneva. The castle was once a Roman outpost, guarding the strategic road through the Alpine passes. The adult entrance fee is CHF 13. 50. There is a large parking lot if you wish to leave your vehicle.

Located next to Lake Geneva, south of Veytaux, in the canton of Vaud.

How to get there:

You can take a direct train to Montreux or a local train to Veytaux-Chillon, where you can easily get to the castle. Or, during high season, you can choose take the boat from Lausanne, Vevey, Montreux and Villeneuve. Finally, you can reach your destination by bus. Take the line N° 201 from Vevey, Montreux or Villeneuve.
