National Historic Site of Canada

The world's most photographed hotel

Chateau Frontenac is historically recognized for defending the French colony against English and Iroquois attacks. Since, it is now a historic hotel in Quebec City, located at the eastern edge of Old Quebec's Upper Town, overlooking the Saint Lawrence River. Tourists can visit a part of the castle's interior. To the south of the hotel lies the Plains of Abraham, which is a historic landmark within the Battlefields Park, and the site of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. While you are in this area, we recommend visiting Old Québec. During your stay in Quebec City, you must try Quebec's most famous dish: the Poutine. For accommodation, the city of Quebec has several hotels, motels and campsites.
