Central America's youngest volcano

A thrilling adventure

Cerro Negro is an active volcano in the Cordillera de los Maribios mountain range. It offeres some of the best volcano boarding slopes in the country. It is an absolute must when traveling in Nicaragua. The hike to the 728 metre-high volcano takes approximately an hour. From there, the fun begins. You can choose between a wooden board or a sledge to cruise down the volcanic slopes of Cerro Negro. This isn't something for the faint-hearted.

How to get there:

Because you cannot get to Cerro Negro Volcano by public transportation, you have to book a tour at your hostel or online at: http://www.volcanoboard.com. A 4-wheel vehicle will either pick you up at your accomodated stay, or at the designated pick up point, and will take you to the volcano.
