Postcard-worthy islands

UNESCO-listed Biosphere Reserve

The Berlengas archipelago is located just 10 km off the mainland of Portugal. You will enjoy a boat ride which will take you to dramatic cliff sceneries, caves, beautiful flowers and protected wildlife. The main island is Berlenga Grande, where you can visit the famous St. John the Baptist Fort. To get to the island you will be passing through an impressive fishing village.

Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

The Berlengas Islands are located west of Peniche in the Oeste region, off the coast of Portugal.

How to get there:

You can drive or take a bus to the city of Peniche, just one hour away from Lisbon. From there, you will have to take the ferry to get to the islands (approximately 20 Euros).
