A hidden paradise

Hamilton Pool Preserve is a historic emerald green swimming hole situated in Texas. The grotto features a beautiful water drop falling down into the pond. It was created from the dome of an underground river that collapsed due to a massive erosion over thousands of years ago. Reservations are required to enter Hamilton Pool Preserve every day from March 1st through October 31st. The entrance fee is $8 per adult. Located about 23 miles (37 km) west of Austin, Texas off Highway 71

How to get there:

The Hamilton Pool Reserve is a 45 minute drive fom Austin. The best option is to drive your own car or to rent one. There are also a few buses that go close to the reserve, and from there you take an Uber, Lyft or a Taxi. The hiking trail to the pool is only a quarter mile.
