The highest point in Hawaii

Mauna Kea is an inactive volcano located 13,803 feet above sea level with a landscape that includes lava rock, alpine tundra, and the ice cap. One of the world’s most advanced telescopes is located on the summit. The summit can be reached by car on a well-maintained road. Many people try to reach the summit before sunrise to observe the magnificent scene.

How to get there:

BIG ISLAND – The best way to get there is definitely by car. A four-wheel drive vehicle is needed for the steep and unpaved roads above the “visitor information: pannel. The summit can be reached by car.
