Dramatic ice formations

Iceland's most accessible glaciers

Solheimajokull is a glacier in Southern Iceland, between the volcanoes Katla and Eyjafjallajökull. It is also known as “The Shrinking Glacier”, due to the fact that it will most likely disappear in the centuries to come. It's an easy hike to get there from the parking lot, no previous experience is required.
