Poás Volcano National Park offers an incredible view over the active crater. The trail starts near the parking lot and takes about 10 minutes to reach the summit. We recommend visiting as early as possible because the top of the volcano may be completely shrouded in clouds later in the morning. You have to purchase an entrance ticket online before going to the park. The National Park is scheduled to open from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. every day.
You can get to Paos Volcano National Park on your own, by car or motorbike. Bus tours are available if you don’t want to drive the distance yourself. The trail starts near the parking lot and takes about 10 minutes.
