Kekova Island is a small Turkish island located off the coast of Antalya, in the Mediterranean Sea. It is part of the Kekova region, which also includes the nearby towns of Kaleköy and Üçağız. Kekova Island is known for its natural beauty, crystal-clear waters, and historical ruins. One of the main attractions of Kekova Island is the partially submerged ancient city of Simena. This Lycian city was once a thriving settlement but was largely destroyed by an earthquake in the 2nd century AD. Today, visitors can see the remains of the ancient city underwater, including sunken houses and staircases. Swimming and snorkeling around the submerged ruins is a popular activity. Kaleköy, also known as Simena, is a picturesque village located on the mainland opposite Kekova Island. It is famous for its well-preserved castle, which sits on top of a hill overlooking the sea.
