A world-famous park

A gorge carved through ancient sandstone

Also known as Nitmiluk Gorge, the Katherine Gorge is an iconic landscape in Northern Australia. It is well known for it's natural swimming holes, the Leliyn (Edith) Falls, the Jatbula Trail, the Northern and Southern Rochhole and more. You can explore Katherine Gorge by canoe and paddle along the gorges to see waterfalls, ancient Aboriginal rock art and wildlife. You can also visit the gorge by boat on a river cruise, or by helicopter.

Located in the northern territory of Australia

How to get there:

Travelling by car is the most convenient way to reach Nitmiluk National Park. It is a 3.5 hour drive from Darwin. You can also take a train from Adelaide to Darwin.
