UNESCO World Heritage Site

One of the most visited historic sites in Vietnam

Built in 1804, the Imperial City of Huế is an enormous complex full of history that is well worth a visit. It is enclosed within a fortress, whose four walls all span 2 kilometers long, and it is protected by a wide moat on the outside. Unfortunately, the Vietnam War caused a lot of damage to the city. It is not what it once was, but there still remains a lot to see.

Located in the city of Huế, the former imperial capital of Vietnam.

How to get there:

The easiest way to reach the Imperial city of Hue is to rent and drive your own motorbike. The road is spectacular and well maintained. The city is also accessible by bus or train.

  1. It’s a cool place but not worth the one day trip on a motorbike from my Hoi An (it is about 2 hours if I remember well). If you love history and museum, it’s worth it to visit tho!
