Hartbeespoort Dam is a popular tourist destination located in the North West Province of South Africa, approximately 45 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria. The dam is surrounded by beautiful mountains and is a great place for outdoor activities such as water sports, hiking, picnicking, and bird watching. One of the main attractions at Hartbeespoort Dam is the Hartbeespoort Cableway, which offers visitors a scenic ride up the mountain in a cable car, providing panoramic views of the dam and surrounding areas. At the top of the mountain, there are restaurants, shops, and a viewing deck where visitors can take in the breathtaking views. Another popular attraction is the Snake and Animal Park, which is home to a variety of reptiles, including pythons, cobras, and vipers, as well as other animals such as lions, tigers, and monkeys.

There are also guided tours available that can take you to Hartbeespoort Dam and other nearby attractions. These tours typically include transportation, entrance fees, and a guide. Once your there, you can explore the area by foot.
