Folgefonna is a glacier and national park located in Norway, specifically in the counties of Hordaland and Vestland. The glacier covers an area of approximately 168 square kilometers and has an average thickness of 450 meters. It is one of the most accessible glaciers in Norway, with several hiking trails and ski slopes available for visitors to explore. The national park is also home to several fjords, lakes, and mountains, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, the park is known for its rich flora and fauna, including rare plant species and birds such as the golden eagle.

Located on the Folgefonna peninsula and it spans the municipalities of Kvinnherad, Etne, and Ullensvang

How to get there:

Rent a car: From Bergen, you can rent a car and drive to the national park. The drive takes about 2-3 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Take public transportation: You can also take a combination of buses and ferries to reach the national park. From Bergen, take the bus to Rosendal, then take a ferry across the Hardangerfjord to Sundal. From Sundal, you can take a shuttle or taxi to the national park.

Once you arrive at the national park, you can explore the glacier and surrounding areas on foot or by skiing or snowboarding in the winter. There are also guided tours available for those who want to learn more about the area and its history.
