The largest river in South Africa.

Situated in desolate and rugged milieu

Augrabies Falls is a waterfall located in the Northern Cape province of South Africa, on the Orange River. The name "Augrabies" comes from the Khoikhoi word meaning "place of great noise", which is an appropriate description for the falls. The waterfall is about 56 meters (184 feet) high and 18 meters (59 feet) wide, and the water drops into a narrow gorge, forming a pool at the bottom. The area surrounding the falls is part of the Augrabies Falls National Park, which covers an area of 820 square kilometers (316 square miles) and is home to a variety of wildlife, including baboons, klipspringers, and several species of birds. The Augrabies Falls area is also popular for hiking and rock climbing, and there are several trails and routes available for visitors to explore the park. Additionally, there are a number of viewing points and picnic areas where visitors can enjoy the scenery and watch the falls.

A change of latitude would help my attitude

Located on the orange river 120 km west of Upington and 40 km northwest of Kakamas on a tarred access route.

How to get there:

By Bus: There are several bus companies that offer trips to Augrabies Falls from major cities like Johannesburg and Cape Town. Greyhound and Intercape are two popular bus companies that operate in South Africa.

By Tour: There are several tour operators that offer guided tours to Augrabies Falls, which usually include transportation, accommodation, and activities. This can be a good option if you don’t want to drive or plan your own trip.

It is recommended to plan your trip in advance, especially if you plan on visiting during the peak season (September to April).
