Known as the Green Lake

Grüner See, also known as the Green Lake, is a beautiful and unique natural phenomenon located in Austria. It is situated in the Hochschwab Mountains, near the town of Tragöß in the Styria region of Austria. What makes Grüner See special is its underwater landscape that changes dramatically throughout the year. During the winter months, the lake is relatively shallow, and it resembles a typical mountain lake. However, in the spring and early summer, when the snow from the surrounding mountains melts, the lake's water level rises significantly, submerging the surrounding park and creating a stunning underwater world.

Grüner See has become a popular destination for divers and nature enthusiasts who are fascinated by the underwater scenery. Diving is allowed in the lake, but it requires proper certification and equipment due to the colder water temperatures and potential hazards.
