The dramatic island of Tortuga is situated right off the southernmost tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. The island is home to some of the best beaches in Costa Ricaand offers amazing snorkeling opportunities and wildlife viewing. Off the shore of Tortuga Island are three shipwrecks that serve as an iconic diving site. You can also hike ti the summit of the island and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view and get a chance befriend some monkeys on your way up.
There are few boat compagnies that offer rides to Tortuga Island. The distance of the departure site will dictate the duration of the boat trip to the island. There are also several tour operators that can get you to the island.
