The beauty of an untouched nature

Site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO

La Amistad National Park is well known for its untouched jungle and abundance of wildlife such as monkeys, jaguars and pumas. It is estimated that two thirds of all the wildlife in Costa Rica can be found at La Amistad International Park. The park area is equally split between Costa Rica and Panama. Because many of the trails are unmarked, visitors are advised to hire a guide for their trip.

There is no paved road into the Park, therefore, you must get around by horse or by foot. You have to enter the Park from the four outposts/entrance stations. Note, that there are no buses that go into the Park. Before heading there, you should spot by the Park’s ranger station to buy an entry ticket, maps and recieve further information.
