Playa el Zonte is a beach town that is popular for its water activities and its laidback atmosphere. Due to its lack of tourists, the town retains its rustic charm, which makes places like this so attractive. There are several hostels with lower rates for travelers on a budget, along with well-priced restaurants with local food. It is definitely the perfect spot for surfers of all levels, from beginners to advanced. El Zonte is not like its neighbour El Tunco, which is much more of a party hub. If you want to escape the crowds and party scene, El Zonte is the place to be.
