Mizen Head is a headland located on the western coast of County Cork, Ireland. It is the southernmost point on the mainland of Ireland and is a popular tourist destination due to its stunning scenery and rugged coastline. The area is home to Mizen Head Signal Station, which was built in 1909 to provide a warning system for ships entering and leaving the nearby harbors. Today, the Signal Station has been converted into a museum and visitor center, where visitors can learn about the history of the area and the vital role played by the Signal Station. Mizen Head is also a popular destination for hikers and walkers, with a number of trails offering breathtaking views of the coastline and surrounding countryside. The area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including seabirds, seals, and dolphins, making it a popular spot for wildlife enthusiasts.

How to get there:
By foot: The Mizen Head Signal Station is located at the end of the Mizen Head Peninsula and can be reached by a scenic coastal walk. The walk is about 8km long and takes around 2 hours each way.
By bus: Bus Eireann operates a daily service from Cork City to Goleen, which is the nearest village to Mizen Head. From Goleen, you can take a taxi or walk to Mizen Head, which is about 6km away
By bike: If you’re feeling adventurous, you can cycle to Mizen Head from Cork City or from the towns of Skibbereen or Bantry. The roads are scenic, but can be narrow and winding in places.
