Loop Head is a scenic and rugged peninsula located on the west coast of Ireland, in County Clare. It is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the mouth of the River Shannon, and is known for its dramatic coastal scenery, charming villages, and abundant wildlife. Some of the top attractions on Loop Head include: -Loop Head Lighthouse: This historic lighthouse, built in 1854, is open to the public and offers stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. -Bridges of Ross: These sea cliffs are known for their spectacular views and are a popular spot for birdwatching. -Kilkee Cliff Walk: This scenic coastal walk takes you along the cliffs overlooking Kilkee Bay, with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. -Carrigaholt Castle: This 15th-century castle is located in the picturesque village of Carrigaholt and is open to the public. -Dolphin Watching: The waters around Loop Head are home to a large pod of dolphins, and there are several companies that offer dolphin watching tours. Here are a few ways to get there:
By Car: If you’re traveling from Dublin, take the M7 and then the M18 to Ennis. From Ennis, take the N68 to Kilrush, and then the R487 to Loop Head. The drive takes about 3.5 hours.
By Bus: Bus Eireann offers a daily bus service from Dublin to Kilkee, which is about 20 minutes away from Loop Head. The journey takes about 5.5 hours.
